Abstract
Employee engagement activities play a pivotal role in shaping faculty satisfaction and efficiency in the workplace. Beyond enhancing morale, these initiatives also provide avenues for addressing organizational challenges and implementing meaningful improvements. This study examines the relationship between employee engagement and teaching performance among faculty members from six (6) State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the National Capital Region. A notable gap in existing literature was identified: limited research focusing specifically on faculty members within SUCs, insufficient studies exploring the significant differences between faculty profiles and performance outcomes, and a lack of understanding regarding the importance of engagement programs in the academic sector. To address these gaps, the study employed a descriptive research design and utilized a survey questionnaire, which underwent ethical review and approval by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Ethical Board. A total of 353 faculty members participated. Data were analyzed using Frequency Distribution, Percentage, Weighted Mean, Pearson’s r Correlation, Estimation of Parameters, t-test, F-test, Analysis of Variance, and Scheffé test. Findings revealed opportunities for institutions to strengthen communication, foster professional and personal growth, enhance mentoring and coaching practices, and improve rewards and recognition systems.
