Abstract

Effective leadership is essential in educational institutions as it influences organizational effectiveness, faculty development, and student success. Despite the growing emphasis on educational leadership, there remains a need to assess leadership performance among school administrators and faculty to identify areas for improvement and develop appropriate interventions. This study aimed to determine the leadership performance of administrators and faculty of Bestlink College of the Philippines in terms of setting direction, developing people, redesigning the organization, instructional advice and support, and monitoring and evaluation. A descriptive-developmental research design was employed involving 155 respondents composed of one school administrator and 154 faculty members. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire and analyzed through percentage, weighted mean, Pearson correlation coefficient, and Analysis of Variance (F-test). Findings revealed that the overall leadership performance was highly implemented with a composite mean of 4.04. Among the leadership dimensions, instructional advice and support obtained the highest rating (WM = 4.20), interpreted as very highly implemented, while monitoring and evaluation received the lowest rating (WM = 3.95), though still interpreted as highly implemented. The study also found a very strong positive correlation (r = 0.95) between the assessments of administrators and faculty regarding leadership performance. Major challenges identified included failure to communicate, developing the master schedule, and lack of clear vision. Based on these findings, a Professional Development Plan was developed and was rated suitable (WM = 4.08) and acceptable (WM = 4.12) by the respondents. The results suggest that continuous leadership enhancement programs and professional development initiatives are necessary to strengthen leadership competencies, improve organizational effectiveness, and support quality education delivery.
