Abstract

Maritime education is important in preparing students to become competent professionals in the global maritime industry. One way to measure the quality of maritime education is through the performance of graduates in the Maritime Licensure Examination. This study aimed to identify the factors that influence the licensure examination results of maritime graduates from Inter Global College Foundation Inc. It focused on academic, institutional, and personal factors that may affect examination performance. This study used a quantitative descriptive research design. The respondents were selected maritime graduates from Inter Global College Foundation Inc. Data were collected through survey questionnaires and academic records from the institution. The study examined factors such as academic performance, study habits, review preparation, institutional support, test anxiety, and time management. Statistical tools including frequency distribution, mean, and regression analysis were used to analyze the data and determine the relationships among the variables. The results showed that academic performance, especially grades in professional maritime subjects and mastery of maritime competencies, had a strong relationship with success in the licensure examination. The findings also revealed that good study habits, proper review preparation, and institutional support such as faculty guidance and review programs positively affected examination results. In addition, personal factors like test anxiety and time management contributed to differences in graduate performance. The study concluded that both academic and personal factors significantly influence the Maritime Licensure Examination results of graduates. Proper academic preparation, strong institutional support, and good personal discipline help improve examination performance. Therefore, it is recommended that Inter Global College Foundation Inc. continue strengthening its academic support services, review programs, and student preparation activities. These efforts are important in improving licensure passing rates and producing competent and globally competitive maritime professionals.
