Enhancing Awareness Campaigns on Violence Against Women and Children in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City: A Proposal
Violence against women and their children includes physical, sexual, psychological, and economic harm within domestic relationships and is addressed by Republic Act No. 9262. Despite this legal framework, violence against women and children remained a significant concern in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City, which recorded 332 cases in 2024 and 181 cases during the first seven months of 2025. This study examined current approaches to improving awareness campaigns in the barangay. It assessed respondents’ profiles, awareness and education initiatives, the use of technology, victim support services, differences in perceptions among respondent groups, implementation challenges, and possible improvements.
Violence Against Women and Their Children Intervention’s to Women’s Violence Experiences in Barangay San Agustin Quezon City
Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) remains a serious social concern in many Philippine communities despite the existence of legal frameworks such as Republic Act 9262. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of barangay-based VAWC interventions in Barangay San Agustin, Quezon City, by examining women’s experiences in terms of accessibility of services, responsiveness of authorities, and availability of support systems. Specifically, it sought to describe the demographic profile of respondents, evaluate existing interventions, determine whether significant difference sexist in the assessment of these interventions, identify challenges encountered in their implementation, and propose programs to strengthen local responses. Guided by Resource Theory and anchored on the Input–Process–Output (IPO) framework, the study tested the hypothesis that there is a significant difference in the assessment of VAWC interventions across the identified dimensions.
An Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Raising the Awareness Campaign Program to Reduce Violence Against Women and Their Children
Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) remains a serious social concern in many communities in the Philippines, particularly affecting women and children in economically disadvantaged areas. This study evaluated the effectiveness of raising awareness campaigns aimed at reducing VAWC. Specifically, the study examined the respondents’ profile in terms of age, civil status, highest educational attainment, and length of residency or years in service; assessed the effectiveness of VAWC awareness campaign, determined whether significant differences existed in respondents’ evaluations when grouped according to type of respondent; and identified problems encountered in the implementation of VAWC awareness campaigns.
Role of the Members of Barangay Council in the Implementation of the Rules on Preventing Violence Against Women and Children
Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) remains a serious social and human rights concern in the Philippines despite the enactment of protective laws such as Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004. At the grassroots level, barangay officials play a crucial role in implementing policies and responding to VAWC related cases. This study examines the role of barangay council members in enforcing and implementing rules aimed at preventing VAWC.
Effectiveness of Oplan Sita in Apprehending Traffic Violators in Barangay 185, Malaria, Caloocan City
Traffic violations and road-related crimes remain a significant concern in urban areas of the Philippines, particularly in densely populated cities such as Caloocan City. The combination of rapid urbanization, growing vehicle ownership, and inadequate road infrastructure has led to increased traffic congestion, reckless driving, and frequent violations of traffic laws. Road-related crimes, including illegal motorcycle operations, theft, and unlawful possession of firearms, also contribute to public insecurity and threaten overall road safety. These issues pose serious challenges to law enforcement agencies and local government units tasked with maintaining order, reducing accidents, and protecting citizens.
The Effectiveness of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Resolution No. 02-28-S-2002 in Commonwealth Quezon City
Traffic congestion and sidewalk obstruction are common problems in many urban areas, including Commonwealth, Quezon City. These issues often affect the daily lives of residents, motorists, and pedestrians. To help address these concerns, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) implemented Resolution No. 02-28-S-2002, which focuses on improving road safety and regulating sidewalk clearing operations. The successful implementation of this resolution requires proper coordination between the MMDA, barangay officials community.
Effectiveness of High-Visibility Enforcement in Reducing Traffic Accidents in Barangay 166, Caybiga, Caloocan City
Traffic accidents remained a major concern in urban communities due to increasing vehicle volume and frequent violations. Barangay 166 Caybiga, Caloocan City implemented High-Visibility Enforcement (HVE) to improve driver discipline through visible and consistent traffic enforcement. This study evaluated the effectiveness of HVE in terms of enforcer visibility, motorists’ compliance, and reduction of traffic-related incidents. It also examined respondents’ profiles and identified implementation problems. The study was anchored in General Deterrence Theory, which suggested that visible enforcement discouraged violations through perceived certainty of punishment.
Assessment of Factors Contributing to Traffic Accidents in Barangay Payatas A, Quezon City
Traffic accidents are a crucial issue in most urban communities, resulting in injuries, deaths, and property damage. In Barangay Payatas A, there is an increase in the risk factors contributing to road accidents, as well as their implications for people's safety. The study aimed to evaluate the contributory factors to traffic crashes in the region, including road infrastructure, traffic congestion, driving behavior, and vehicle condition. It examines whether demographic characteristics such as age, sex, and length of residence affect respondents' evaluations of these attributes.
Effectiveness of Police–Community Partnerships in Reducing Crime and Improving Public Safety in Barangay Fairview, Quezon City
Traditionally, maintaining peace and order was primarily the responsibility of the police. However, modern approaches now emphasize cooperation between law enforcement and the community in preventing crime and improving public safety. In urban communities like Barangay Fairview, Quezon City, police–community partnership plays a vital role in promoting safety through shared responsibility, trust, and collaboration.
The Impact of Disarming Technique Program for Barangay Officials and Employees in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City
This study, titled The Impact of Disarming Technique Program for Barangay Officials and Employees in Barangay Payatas, evaluated the effectiveness of a structured disarming training intervention in enhancing the functional readiness, confidence, and community safety performance of barangay personnel. Anchored on Experiential Learning Theory by David A. Kolb and grounded in the mandate of Republic Act No. 7160, the study sought to determine: (1) the demographic profile of respondents; (2) the level of impact of the program in terms of response to duty, quick response time, reduced risk of injury, community safety, secured community, safer community, enhanced confidence, new skills application, and confidence in ability; (3) whether a significant difference existed in the evaluation of the program; (4) the challenges encountered in applying disarming techniques; and (5) appropriate interventions to address identified gaps.
Role of Barangay Public Safety Officers in the Implementation of Peace and Order in Barangay 176 a Caloocan City
This study, titled “The Role of Barangay Public Safety Officers in the Implementation of Peace and Order in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, ” aimed to assess the effectiveness and contributions of Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSOs) in maintaining peace and order within their community. Guided by the principles of Community Policing Theory and Social Responsibility Theory, the research examined how BPSOs perform their duties, their coordination with local authorities, and the challenges they face in enforcing laws and promoting safety.
Challenges Encountered by Lupong Tagapamayapa in Implementing Katarungang Pambarangay in Batasan Hills, Quezon City
This study, titled “Challenges Encountered by Lupong Tagapamayapa in Implementing Katarungang Pambarangay in Batasan Hills, Quezon City, ” examines the difficulties faced by the Lupong Tagapamayapa in carrying out its mandate of delivering community-based justice. The Lupon serves as the barangay’s primary dispute resolution body, helping maintain peace and order while reducing the burden on higher courts. Despite its important role, the system continues to face challenges such as inadequate training, limited facilities, procedural inconsistencies, and low public engagement. Guided by Robert Putnam’s Social Capital Theory, the research explores how trust, cooperation, and civic engagement influence the effectiveness of Lupon mediation.
Awareness of Fire Safety Implementation in Commercial Establishments in Barangay 179, Caloocan City
This study, titled “Awareness of the Implementation of Fire Safety in Commercial Establishments in Barangay 179, Caloocan City, ” examines the level of awareness and understanding of fire safety practices among individuals involved in commercial establishments within the community. Fire safety plays a crucial role in protecting lives, property, and economic activities, especially in urban areas where business establishments are often located close to residential spaces. The increasing number of commercial establishments in densely populated communities has raised concerns about the potential risks associated with fire hazards. Without proper fire prevention practices and emergency preparedness, these establishments may become highly vulnerable to fire incidents that could result in severe damage and loss.

This study, titled “An Assessment on the Level of Performance of the Lupon Tagapamayapa in Novaliches Proper, Quezon City, ” focused on evaluating how effectively the Lupon performs its role in resolving community disputes. It assesses their performance based on three key areas: Approach, which includes their active and proactive efforts; Procedures, which involve how they respond and resolve conflicts; and Collaboration with the Barangay and the residents.
Assessment of Traffic Violations among Motorcycle Riders in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City
This study, “An Assessment of Traffic Violation Among Motorcycle Riders in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, ” examined the factors influencing traffic violations among motorcycle riders along Commonwealth Avenue, one of the busiest and most accident-prone roads in Quezon City. Anchored on the Theory of Planned Behavior and the Social Ecological Model, the research investigated the relationship between riders’ demographic profile, level of awareness of traffic laws enforced by the Land Transportation Office and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, environmental and enforcement factors, and the frequency of traffic violations.
Assessment of Anti-Illegal Gambling Operations in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City
This study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the anti-illegal gambling operations implemented by Police Station 13 in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City. Specifically, it examined four key dimensions that influence the success of law enforcement efforts: police omnipresence, community engagement and operations, socio-economic status of residents, and inter-agency collaboration. Understanding how these factors contribute to or hinder the effectiveness of anti-illegal gambling initiatives is crucial in developing sustainable strategies that go beyond enforcement and address the root causes of illegal gambling.
Effectiveness of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team in Implementing Peace and Order Measures in Batasan Hills, Quezon City
This study looks at how the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) contributes to the safety and stability in Batasan Hills, Quezon City. In a community, maintaining order often falls on the shoulders of these local responders who handle everything from neighborhood disputes to crime prevention. The researchers set out to determine if the BPAT’s methods are truly effective in keeping residents safe and if they have earned the community’s trust. By identifying the strengths and weaknesses of these peacekeepers, The study aimed to provide other ideas for BPAT to better protect their citizens.

Grounded in the principles of community-oriented policing and participatory governance, this research evaluates the extent to which these officers contribute to enhancing public safety within the barangay.
Comprehensive Approach in the Implementation of Anti Gambling Law: A Proposal
This study investigates the enforcement of Presidential Decree 1602 in Barangay Gulod, Quezon City, as a means of curbing illegal gambling. Despite the presence of anti-gambling laws, underground betting and online platforms persist, creating financial strain, family conflict, and community disorder. Guided by the Cyber-Routine Activity Theory, the research situates illegal gambling within the broader context of digital deviance, emphasizing the convergence of motivated offenders, suitable targets, and the absence of capable guardians.
An Assessment of the Karaoke Noise Pollution Leading to Community Conflicts
This study investigates the effects of noise pollution caused by karaoke activities and examines its role in triggering community conflicts in Barangay San Agustin, Novaliches. Karaoke, while commonly used for recreation and social gatherings, has become a frequent source of disturbance within the community when used excessively or without proper regulation. The research focuses on assessing the psychological effects of noise pollution, such as stress, irritation, and mental fatigue, as well as health-related concerns including sleep deprivation and residents’ perceived experiences of hormonal imbalance. These effects are considered significant because they may influence individuals’ behavior, emotional stability, and interpersonal relationships within the barangay.
